'Torn’ delves into the heart of the controversy surrounding the ‘KIDNAPPED’ poster campaign, which turned New York City’s streets into unexpected battlegrounds for pro-Israel and pro-Palestine activists. What started as a seemingly straightforward effort to raise awareness for the 240 hostages quickly escalated into an emotionally charged ‘paper war,’ mirroring the complexities of a war thousands of miles away. Please join us for an evening that explores the “KIDNAPPED” campaign, the Antisemitism that followed in NYC and around the globe, and the true issues at stake that run far deeper than just tearing down posters. For Mature Audiences Only. -

icturing Past & Present invites all who identify as Jewish and have a relationship with Maryland to have their historical and contemporary family photos presented publicly in the Museum’s new core exhibition. We are asking for Jewish Marylanders to submit a digital scan of three photos: a photo from early in your family’s history, a current photo, and one that falls chronologically in between. We are also asking for basic information about the photos, including who is in it and when it was taken, and why you picked them. The final exhibit will be a two-part display, with an ongoing presentation of the submitted photographs and an interactive terminal where visitors can search for names or keywords and explore the entries at their own speed. Bring your three original photographs to BHC’s Festival of Lights on Sunday, December 15th from 9:30AM-1:30 PM to have them scanned and submitted! -
